"Observing imsak before adhan is some kind of bid'ah. No basis in the sunnah of prophet Muhammad s.a.w....the prophet said "eat and drink until you hear adhan". The prophet s.a.w. wanted us to eat till we hear adhan so that we could pray salatu fajr."
